Monson was set up as a Private Limited Company in August 1992. Workload at this time mainly covered local authorities, water companies, housing associations and health trusts. Some work was carried out on behalf of developers and contractors.
In July 1996, Monson took over the staff and clients of Locks Structural, a long established structural engineering practice and built on their client base of developers, house builders, contractors and private individuals.
As the volume of work undertaken by the Company grew it also spread geographically with a significant number of clients and projects emanating from the Thames Valley area. This led in 1997 to the opening of our second office in Pangbourne, Berkshire. That office later moved on to Wallingford as more staff were required to deal with increased workloads, and more space was required.
From our offices based in Sussex and Oxfordshire, qualified and experienced engineers are available to quickly respond to client requests throughout the Southern part of England.
Quality Assurance recognition was gained through BSi in 1997. That registration has been maintained and covers all disciplines throughout the two Company offices. The company Quality Policy is available on request.
Over time, an increasing volume of work has been gained through term and framework agreements with local authorities, health trusts and water companies. In working for a client over a period of time Monson believes it is able to more fully understand the particular requirements of an organisation and develop an in-depth knowledge of the assets owned. These advantages have led to a number of contracts being extended, several past their intended competition date and the Company re-awarded contracts when the original arrangement has come up for competitive tender.
Our work ranges from construction and engineering design services through to specialist areas such as designing and implementing car park strategies, providing flood risk assessments, topographical surveys and technical audits.
